I’m currently partnered with a leading manufacturer in the building materials sector to identify a highly capable Purchasing Manager for their flagship production facility in Jackson County, Oklahoma . This is a key operational role focused on procurement leadership, vendor management, and strategic inventory planning.

About the Role:

The Purchasing Manager will oversee all procurement activities at the plant level, ensuring critical materials and parts are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and on time. This individual will work closely with Plant Leadership and Corporate Procurement to maintain seamless operations and compliance across the board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement of raw materials, spare parts, and services for plant operations.
  • Develop supplier relationships to optimize pricing, availability, and service levels.
  • Support maintenance teams with effective inventory control systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing and sourcing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and industry regulations (including OSHA and environmental compliance).
  • Collaborate with both plant management and corporate procurement on strategic sourcing and system functionality.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and organizational skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with industrial equipment and components is highly beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional education or training preferred.

🏭 Work Environment:

  • Office‑based with frequent presence on the plant floor.
  • Standard hours:
    Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (some flexibility required).
  • Must be able to climb stairs, occasionally lift up to 40 lbs, and work in non‑climate‑controlled areas.
