Position Description

Responsible for creating and promoting visibility and positioning of the hospice in the healthcare community. The Marketing Director must be a vibrant and dynamic personality with high energy and a sincere passion for working individuals and providing peace of mind through quality care individuals and their loved ones. The Marketing Director position improves the census and revenue production of the hospice in accordance with marketing and business plans (marketing events, telephoning, and advertising campaign);

includes managing the referral process and completing all activities required for a referral. The Director of Marketing manages and creates and designs marketing materials including brochures, print ads, social media, media presentations, TV commercials and mail outs with collaboration with the Executive Director. Supervises all sales, marketing, and public relations. Supervises all marketing and public relations staff, provides guidance, training and oversight in all staff duties.

The Marketing Director represents the hospice and increases awareness through participation in outside events. Partners with management to develop and execute marketing plans and achieve hospice goals. Leads the development and implementation of all strategic marketing plans, events and campaigns. Works collaboratively with all stakeholders including the Executive Director and other departments. Requires minimal supervision.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Builds volume for home care services in a way that supports the philosophy and enhances the image of the Hospice.
  • Maintains contact with representatives of other organizations to exchange and update information on resources and services available in assigned locations.
  • Utilizes expertise in advertising, promotion, direct marketing, media relations, publications and market research to solve marketing problems.
  • Functions as head of marketing meetings for the hospice when planning and brainstorming occur.
  • Works to strategize, plan and supervise marketing communication activities.
  • Works with management to prepare marketing plans for multiple locations.
  • Manages community education budgets. Serves as liaison between the community and the agencies.
  • Responsible for the communication of issues/concerns from patients and/or community/healthcare partners to the Executive Director to ensure quality home care when appropriate.
  • Maintains a professional working relationship and provides community education to local communities, medical community and other health care entities.
  • Maintains patient rights and dignity. Assures the care of the dying patient, optimizing his/her comfort and dignity. (100%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Possesses adequate knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and insurance standards to ensure reimbursement for all services rendered.
Education
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities described.
  • Experience:

    6 months to 1 year experience in Medicare home health or hospice
