Assistant Director of Nursing; ADON; LPN or RN

Ranchwood Nursing Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This role supports the facility’s mission to provide superior clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and supportive services to residents.

The ADON is a key management position assisting in the leadership and delivery of clinical services. Primary responsibilities include ensuring residents receive high-quality care and coordinating nursing staff and resources.

• Maintain appropriate nursing service obligations, goals, and standards of nursing practice consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Oversee, direct, and coordinate nursing staff to provide proper resident care consistent with standard nursing practices.
• Participate in screening prospective residents as well as ongoing assessment of resident needs.
• Ensure staff adherence to infection control procedures, quality assurance programs, and OSHA procedures.
• Act as liaison between the facility and other outside caregivers.
• Conduct employee conferences, counseling, and evaluations. Participate in hiring of new nursing employees and orientation of new staff.
• Assist in ongoing in-service education of nursing staff.
• Adhere to the nursing service budget.
• Make decisions regarding all aspects of nursing care in consultation with the Director of Assisted Living, Nurse Consultants, and other resources.
• Ensure provision of appropriate medications, treatments, and nursing services according to care plans and physician’s instructions.
• Monitor and control inventories of drugs and supplies.
• Notify the Director of Assisted Living, physician, and family or responsible party of significant changes in a resident’s condition.
• Formulate plans of care based on resident assessments and assign resident care attendants accordingly.
• Attend department head meetings, staff meetings, and serve on appropriate committees as directed.

• LPN or RN license in the state of practice
• Previous skilled nursing facility experience with a solid understanding of clinical operations and regulatory compliance
• Nursing management or staff development experience
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strong employee relationships
