As the Certified Medication Aide at Ranchwood Nursing Center, you will administer oral and topical medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following physician orders and in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as facility policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
  • Record the administration of medications and/or treatments accurately.
  • Observe for and report any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
  • Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
Qualifications
  • State certification as a Nurse Aide is required.
  • State certification as a Medication Aide is required.
  • State approved medication administration certification.
  • Complete familiarity with duties of a certified nurse aide.
  • Highly developed observation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
