School Year

Possess or be able to obtain a valid license to drive a school bus, which includes Class B CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brakes. In addition, possess or obtain an Oklahoma SDE school bus driver Certification by attending the school bus driver training (if necessary);
Such additional health and age requirements as the board may require.

• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to the building administrator.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents to the Director and the Police, and completes required reports.
• Enforces regulations against smoking, chewing tobacco, eating, or drinking on the bus.
• Enforces bus riding regulations established by the Director or the state.
• Abides by all district policies and state and federal laws.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, or climb stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to support and stabilize students with physical disabilities.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
