The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an ambitious professional ready to jump-start a rewarding career! This position is responsible for performing administrative and general office duties and maintaining accurate documentation.
Job Duties- Researches and gathers data for the preparation of various reports and special projects
- Prepares a variety of correspondence and responses
- Investigates complaints and resolves problems or refers to the appropriate area
- Reviews and monitors expenses from the budget to assure that funds are not exceeded
- Organizes and files both confidential and administrative files
- Maintains and operates general office equipment
- Attends meetings and takes minutes
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
- Knowledge of:
- Administrative management practices
- Procurement rules and procedures
- Business English, spelling, and grammar
- Filing systems
- Proper telephone etiquette
- Personal computers
- Dealing with staff, inmates, and public
- Word processing and spreadsheet software
- ADCRR policies and procedures
- Skill in:
- Verbal and written communication
- Operation of general office equipment
- Data entry
- Preparing and formatting detailed reports
- Writing correspondence
- Training lower‑level staff
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Ability to:
- Plan, analyze, coordinate and prioritize work

- Work in a prison environment
- Two (2) – three (3) years of experience providing administrative support to a manager/administrator
- Knowledge of computer programs including Google Docs, Sheets and Gmail
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.
Because driving or use of a vehicle is an essential function, the following apply: A current, valid, class‑appropriate driver’s license is required; the license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees driving on State business must complete required training and maintain acceptable driving records. A personally owned vehicle used on State business must maintain statutory liability insurance as prescribed in the Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2‑10‑207.11.
All employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.
All newly hired State employees must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

RetirementPositions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment. Current ADCRR employees in a different retirement plan should consult with their Human Resources Liaison.
