Job Summary
Applications are sought on behalf of the Superior Court in Yuma County. Yuma County Human Resources does not review any applications submitted for this position. All applications are forwarded to Adult Probation Human Resources in Yuma County. This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid‑point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms and coordinates a variety of secretarial, technical, organizational and administrative activities to support a work unit or staff; coordinates, processes and compiles records, data and other materials. May perform specialized functions within a work unit. Examples (illustrative only): oversees administrative workflow, applies policies and procedures, composes correspondence, maintains files, collects statistical data, develops reports, researches databases, ensures compliance with court policy, provides customer service, screens calls, advises staff, maintains confidentiality, coordinates special projects, takes minutes, and performs related duties as required.
Qualificationsand Requirements
Experience and
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent plus three years of clerical and computer experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
Additional requirements: Pass criminal background checks; valid Arizona State driver's license (may be required);
Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation; may need Terminal Operator Certification for access to Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS).
Knowledge of: Applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, operational policies and procedures, Federal rules;
Court administration processes including accounting and budgeting; basic principles of specialized AOC software, file management, bookkeeping, record keeping, case management; legal terminology and court processes; modern office practices.
Skills: Interacting with diverse populations; using initiative and independent judgment; interpreting technical instructions; establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships; reviewing documents for accuracy; producing reports; operating a personal computer; making accurate calculations; communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Abilities: Review documents for accuracy and compliance; follow written and oral instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
