Construction Estimator

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level Estimator to support a federal construction subcontractor delivering complex infrastructure and security-focused projects. This individual will play a key role in preconstruction, producing accurate and well-documented estimates, collaborating with project teams, and supporting design-build pursuits from early concept through execution.

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proven experience with quantity takeoffs, pricing, and estimate development
• Experience soliciting, leveling, and evaluating subcontractor and vendor bids
• Develop detailed conceptual through GMP estimates based on plans, specs, and bid documents
• Perform material and labor takeoffs and assemble complete estimate packages
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Identify scope gaps, assumptions, exclusions, and project risks during preconstruction
• Support design-build pursuits with pricing, scope development, and clarifications
• Assist with change order pricing and budget support as projects move into execution
• Maintain organized estimating files, bid tabs, and documentation for project handoff

• 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator directly for a construction firm
• Experience estimating on self perform commercial or federal construction projects
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating documentation workflows
• Comfortable working hybrid or remote with periodic travel to Arizona

• Design-Build estimating experience
• Exposure to federal or public‑sector construction projects (USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, DHS, etc.)
• Experience supporting border, security, or infrastructure projects
• Hands‑on experience with the estimating tools InEight or Heavybid
• Experience supporting RFPs, conceptual/ROM estimates, and value engineering efforts
