Digital Content Producer

Overview

NPG of Yuma-El Centro in Yuma, Arizona has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Producer.

• Oversee day-to-day editorial for the station’s digital, mobile and social platforms.
• Work with the News Director to produce and distribute brand-reinforcing content across all platforms.
• Plan and execute special projects (e.g., sweep) and ensure newsroom MMJs, Reporters, Anchors and Producers meet deadlines to provide updated local content daily.
• On weekends, gather content for weekend newscasts as needed.
• Supervise editorial production of news content on the station website, RSS, SMS, mobile and all digital and social platforms.
• Be on call to cover major events 24 hours a day and/or travel as required to cover events relevant to the audience.
• Communicate daily deadlines to newsroom staff and assign tasks to staff as necessary (e.g., breaking news).
• Provide ongoing employee feedback (positive and constructive).
• Manage social media — station staff posts and moderation of user comments.
• Demonstrate understanding of multimedia file formats and have strong computer skills; working knowledge of HTML;
  Photoshop preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.
• At least one year newsroom experience preferred.
• Energetic with motivational skills; team player/leader, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with web-publishing tools.
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and pass a drug test and background check.
