3rd Grade Teacher – Salida del Sol (2026-27 School Year)

Location: Crane Elementary School District 13, Salida del Sol Elementary, Yuma, Arizona

Starting Date: July 1, 2026

Qualifications:

Valid Emergency, Elementary or Secondary Arizona teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements as required.

Reports To: Building Principal

Job Goal: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and specific times.
• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets each student’s individual needs, interests, and abilities.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for assigned classes and demonstrates written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the district’s objectives, establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, projects and communicates them to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of the students.
• Strives to implement, through instruction and action, the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
• Recognizes and evaluates learning and other disabilities of students regularly; seeks assistance or referral of district specialists as required.
• Takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Assists administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; develops reasonable classroom rules and maintains order fairly and justly.
• Provides availability to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day when reasonably requested.
• Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attends required staff meetings and serves on staff committees as needed.
• Performs other necessary duties as assigned.

Teacher’s contract; salary and benefits established by the Board.

Position will be evaluated by the principal/qualified evaluator in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.

• Performance Pay based on “highly effective” rating and completion of professional development hours as defined in the Classroom Site Fund Plan (Prop 301). “Ineffective” or “Developing” teachers should review the plan for earnings estimate.
• Instructional Improvement subject to annual Governing Board approval.
• Starting salary includes base salary and supplemental pay eligible per plan criteria.

Position Type: Full‑Time

Salary: $62,600 to $73,100 per year
