Position: FMEAP SPECIALIST (Marine and Family Programs, Marine Corps Community Services).
Location:
MCAS YUMA, AZ.
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) seeks a dedicated FMEAP Specialist to provide comprehensive employment assistance to military spouses and eligible family members. The role involves career coaching, resource development, event coordination, volunteer management, and program reporting to support career success and transition readiness.
Major Duties- Build and maintain relationships with the military community, local, regional, and national industry partners and maintain a comprehensive database of employment opportunities, government and private resources, and training programs.
- Engage with civilian employers to build capacity for military spouse and family employment, including networking, outreach, and partnership development.
- Provide one‑on‑one career coaching, conduct career readiness workshops, job fairs, and informational briefs; tailor personalized career plans and conduct comprehensive career assessments.
- Assist clients with resume preparation, interview techniques, job search strategies, and educational/certification opportunities (e.g. MySECO, MSEP, MSCAP, MyCAA, Military One Source).
- Coordinate and execute program events, including job fairs, community networking, and volunteer recognition ceremonies.
- Maintain client, volunteer, and partner records; use data tools to monitor program metrics and submit reports to HQMC.
- Develop and implement volunteer management program activities, recruit, train, and recognize volunteers, and promote the VMP within the Marine Corps Community.
- Deliver high‑quality workshops, briefings, and training sessions, utilizing technology and adult‑learning best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolve client issues promptly, and adhere to safety and EEO policies.
- Travel as necessary, maintain a valid, broad‑category driver’s license (SOFA license), and perform occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, or related field and a minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources, Education, advising, career planning, or related services.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Expert verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense policies, Marine Corps program objectives, and evaluation methodologies for FMEAP and VMP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, learning management systems, and related software.
- Knowledge of career coaching, workforce development, and adult‑education methods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) credential within two years of employment.
- Must possess a valid, state‑issued driver’s license (SOFA license if OCONUS).
