Professor of Theater - Fall 2026 (1 Year Temporary)

Arizona Western College seeks a student-focused Theatre Professor for a one-year temporary appointment. This role combines teaching, mentorship, and production leadership, including a 15-equated teaching load per semester and directing/co-producing mainstage productions.

• Serve students and provide classroom and production leadership.
• Teach 15 equated load hours per semester (including material and preparation time); develop and grade exams and instruments to evaluate student learning and progress; submit student grades/progress as required by program policies.
• Maintain a minimum of 5 office hours per week/semester and direct interaction with students in a formal learning environment for a 15-equated load hour schedule.
• Remain current in the discipline and update course content; maintain and annually update standard syllabus/outline for each course in accordance with program procedures.
• Meet the minimum qualifications for the position as specified (see Qualifications).

• Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline, OR
• Master’s degree in any discipline with three years of related experience, OR
• Bachelor’s degree with industry certification and three years of experience, OR
• Bachelor’s degree with Arizona teaching certificate and three years teaching experience

Faculty salary range is $54,134–$59,355, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include exemption status and eligibility for benefits.
