Responsibilities
  • Perform systems maintenance and operations as assigned by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
  • Work may be reviewed by section lead or supervisor for compliance with accepted practices.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
  • Initiate or assist in implementing Engineering Changes, Configuration Management, Job Qualification Standards, Work Instructions, and procedures.
  • Apply advanced knowledge in troubleshooting, isolating malfunctions, repairing to the component level, and incorporating engineering changes; requires understanding of analog, digital, mechanical, network, and RF systems.
  • Make circuit analyses, calculate waveforms, and trace relationships in signal flow.
  • Use complex test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, and computer analytical equipment.
  • Operate and maintain systems per Work Instructions.
  • Receive technical guidance from section lead, supervisor, or higher‑level technician.
  • Provide technical guidance and direct lower‑level technicians to complete assigned tasks.
  • Perform organizational and intermediate‑level troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Carry out corrosion control on equipment.
  • Adhere to environmental, safety, and health standards and use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Cease work and notify Lead, Supervisor, or Manager of any unsafe conditions.
  • Complete all assigned training and document it in the training jacket, TWMS, and other required training systems.
  • Accurately document work performed in IEMS.
  • Work according to the mission schedule and fleet requirements; may require shifting to accommodate fleet readiness.
  • Other duties may be assigned by a section lead, manager, or supervisor.

Physical Requirements
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Lifting of up to 45 pounds.
  • Overhead work and use of ladders.
  • Work at heights.
  • Boat travel.
  • Regular handling, grasping, kneeling, and carrying.
  • Continuous vision and mental alertness; use of sight while reviewing documents.
  • Continuous speech and hearing abilities for communication.
  • Travel out of state up to 50% of the time.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational training in electronic equipment maintenance.
  • Two (2) years of related experience with four (4) or more of the following skills (two (2) years of formal technical training may substitute for experience):
    • Digital/analog signal processing
    • Synchro‑servo circuits
    • Radar and radar theory
    • Electromechanical devices
    • Video signal processing and recording
    • Communications (multiplexer equipment)
    • Digital/analog computer systems
    • High voltage power supplies
    • Test equipment
    • Optical equipment
    • RF signal processing
    • Antenna systems
    • Low voltage AC equipment
    • Auto‑Transfer (UPS) equipment
    • Computer networking
    • Hydraulics
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics.
  • Software programming and debugging knowledge.
  • Certification in Network+ or Security+ if required.
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting systems using multiple network interfaces for software‑controlled subsystems.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Must review all relevant Work Instructions.
  • Must be signed off with all relevant JQS’s within specified time frames (90 and 120 days).
  • Must hold a valid State Driver’s License and be insured under company vehicle insurance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance before hire and maintain it throughout employment.
  • All candidates will undergo background screening, including SSN, driver record, and criminal background investigation.
