Position: SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will serve as the regulatory compliance and permits director, providing authoritative technical guidance, oversight, and strategic planning for multiple concurrent environmental compliance programs (e.g. Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act)
* You will develop, implement, and evaluate environmental policies, standard operating procedures, and management plans to ensure installation operations comply with all applicable Department of War, federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
* You will plan, lead, and conduct comprehensive environmental inspections, audits, and compliance assessments of facilities, training areas, and industrial operations to identify deficiencies, assess risks, and implement corrective action plans.
* You will act as the primary technical representative and liaison with federal (e.g., Environmental Protection Agency), state and local environmental regulatory agencies.
* You will negotiate complex permit conditions, prepare detailed permit applications, and manage regulatory enforcement actions or notices of violation.
* You will advise installation commanders, directors, and tenant organizations on the environmental impacts of proposed mission activities.
* You will develop and deliver environmental compliance and pollution prevention (P2) training to military and civilian personnel. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of multiple environmental programs involving the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Safe Drinking Water Act; AND experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring environmental policies and procedures to ensure strict compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental laws.
