Overview
At Arizona Western College, the Director of Emergency Medical Services is a leadership role dedicated to advancing excellence in emergency medical services education. This position champions innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement to ensure programs remain responsive to industry evolution and community needs. The Director plays a vital role in developing future EMS professionals while strengthening partnerships that support student success and public safety.
Responsibilities- Serves Students. Provides administrative oversight of EMT and Paramedic Programs through long-range planning, leadership and vision, operational budgets and policies, and advocating for educational resources, ensuring program compliance with all applicable regulating agencies. Develops and implements strategic vision to include alternative funding and resource procurement, student recruitment and retention, marketing, job placement, and community partnerships.
- Teaches EMT and Paramedic courses as required. May teach evenings and/or weekends as required.

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher and at minimum of 5 years of paramedic/EMT experience AND
- Current, unencumbered certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians AND
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a clinical instructor/preceptor for EMS programs OR
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a full-time or equivalent part-time instructor in an EMT/Paramedic program
$57,955- $61,432 per year, depending on experience. Additional compensation and market comparison may be considered up to 35% above the base salary posted.
