Work Status: REGULAR FULL TIME – 80.00 hours every two weeks.
Shift: Nights. Pay Rate Type:

Yuma Medical Center.
Salary Range:
Min $33.74, Mid $42.17, Max $50.61.
In addition to the designated duties, the Medical Lab Scientist Lead is responsible for participating in hiring, scheduling, training, and collaboration of the laboratory team with other hospital areas. This role promotes an open, collaborative environment focused on accurate, timely, and quality laboratory results for patients across all disciplines (Microbiology, Serology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Hematology, Blood bank, and phlebotomy as needed). The Lead performs quantitative, qualitative, and subjective lab procedures using both manual and automated methods for inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities- Analyze patient, control, and proficiency testing specimens, and record results promptly according to laboratory policy.
- Review and correlate test results with each other and with patient conditions, recognizing abnormal results and critical/alert values.
- Verify accuracy of results.
- Perform daily instrument maintenance, troubleshoot and resolve specimen integrity problems; calibrate, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and complete appropriate documentation.
- Collect specimens and interpret patient results and quality control data.
- Lead and participate in quality assurance, quality improvement activities, and quality control processes.
- Accurately prepare, label, and store reagents, standards, controls, and specimens for analysis.
- Instruct, orient, and mentor students, employees, residents, patients, and other health care providers as applicable.
- Participate in hiring, scheduling, training, and collaboration of the laboratory team with other areas of the department and hospital.
- Foster an open working environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and shared goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
- 2+ years related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- MLS – Medical Lab Scientist certification.
