Salary Range: $16.00 – $20.80 per hour (min, mid, max). Actual salaries may vary based on experience and skills. This range is one component of the total rewards/compensation package.

Summary

The Patient Services Representative performs scheduling and registration, verifies insurance eligibility, obtains authorizations for ambulatory appointments, procedures, or surgery, and conducts administrative duties such as answering phones, faxing, filing, and basic internet/email usage. The role ensures timely, accurate patient registration and clear communication of insurance details, co‑pays, deductibles, and appointment information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and reschedule routine and non‑routine medical services for assigned patient population.
  • Coordinate scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services.
  • Confirm accuracy of data entry for medical appointments and patient information.
  • Perform patient registration and verify insurance eligibility.
  • Obtain and document pre‑certification/authorization for appointments and procedures.
  • Secure demographic and financial information, including Medicare/Medicaid, third‑party liability, and workers’ compensation.
  • Collect co‑pays, deductibles, and self‑pay amounts, and explain payment responsibilities.
  • Answer phones, fax, file confidential documents, and use basic internet/email.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with back office/medical assistant team and providers to maximize patient care experience.
Education & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year related customer service or administrative experience preferred.
