The Desktop Support Technician I supports the hardware and software needs of the organization; acts as a level 2 escalation point for the service desk; sets up hardware in new/acquired locations for the organization. The Technician assists other departments in the implementation of hardware and provides support as needed and provides assistance troubleshooting issues to help find resolutions. The Desktop Tech participates in the "IT Concierge" support system that is in place to assist with "at the elbow" support to medical staff and assists with creation of documentation for software and hardware.
The IT Desktop Support Technician I provides technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. As the face of IT for all users in the company, this role requires a persistent and dependable work ethic with strong customer service skill. This individual is in a highly collaborative environment working with other skilled professionals.
- Performs IT Concierge Support duties that include “rounding” the hospital floors to assist with issues that need to be fixed immediately; works assigned tickets from the Desktop Support Lead and looks for additional issues that may have yet to be reported.
- Performs break/fix on the physical hardware of the organization by either replacing or repairing in a timely manner; maintains the functionality of PCs in the organization (not to include vendor owned systems).
- Assists in imaging/repairing computers with the Windows operating system for incident, service requests and operating system updates for the organization.
- Assists with clinic setups when needed and make sure hardware such as scanners and Imprivata are working at these clinics as intended.
- Assists in the setup of hardware for users requesting a conference room be setup with computer hardware.
- Orders hardware and software. Understands business processes & best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- HS DIPLOMA/GED
- Required:
2+ years related experience. - Preferred:
CompTIA A+ Certified, ITIL Certification or a related field and 3+ years of IT Technical Support experience.
