Job Description & How to Apply Below

BEI Advisors is a boutique management consulting firm that helps companies build stronger, more scalable businesses. Our work spans fractional CFO/COO advisory, M&A advisory, business transformation consulting, and leadership and operational design training. We serve mid-market companies, family-owned businesses, startups, and nonprofits across a wide range of industries — with particular depth in agriculture and food companies, and experience across manufacturing, distribution, technology, healthcare, and professional services.

We don’t deliver reports and walk away — we partner with our clients and hold ourselves accountable for results. Our clients trust us with their most important strategic decisions, and we earn that trust by staying in the work alongside them until the outcomes are real.

The Opportunity

BEI is adding a dedicated Supply Chain Advisory Practitioner to our service delivery team. Our existing capabilities include finance advisory, M&A advisory, leadership training, and operational design — helping clients build the organizational structures, accountability systems, and meeting rhythms that drive execution. Supply chain has been a consistent area of client demand, and this position fills that gap.

You will work directly with client leadership teams — in their facilities, in their boardrooms, and alongside the rest of the BEI team. You will be a trusted advisor to business owners, partnering with them on implementation and holding yourself accountable for delivering measurable results.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

1. Become a Trusted Advisor to BEI Clients — Within 90 days, participate in active engagements, build direct relationships with client leadership, and demonstrate the ability to diagnose supply chain issues and earn trust in the room. By month 6, lead supply chain work streams independently.

2. Deliver Supply Chain Diagnostics and Assessments — Evaluate procurement, sourcing, freight/logistics, inventory management, production planning, warehousing, and distribution. Produce clear, prioritized recommendations that clients can act on.

3. Build BEI’s Supply Chain Advisory Framework — Develop a repeatable methodology that integrates into BEI’s existing consulting framework, including diagnostic tools, assessment templates, and deliverable formats.

4. Drive Measurable Client Results — Deliver quantifiable supply chain improvements for at least 2–3 client engagements in the first year — cost reductions, lead time improvements, inventory optimization, manufacturing efficiency gains, or improved supplier performance.

5. Streamline Operations and Strengthen Client Systems — Help clients move from reactive, spreadsheet-driven operations to system-driven decision-making. Evaluate ERP systems, recommend and implement additional modules, clean up and restructure data to support demand planning, supply planning, and manufacturing scheduling. Get into the weeds of data structures and system configuration alongside higher-level process redesign.

6. Support M&A Due Diligence — Evaluate target companies’ supply chain operations, assess risks, identify integration opportunities, and quantify potential synergies.

7. Contribute to Business Development — Identify supply chain opportunities within existing client relationships and support the firm’s growth through visibility in the market, thought leadership, and the strength of your client work.

Advisory Scope

The supply chain domain is broad. Not every engagement touches all of these, but the right person should be able to go deep in most:

  • Procurement & Sourcing — supplier evaluation, vendor negotiations, sourcing strategy, spend analysis
  • Manufacturing & Production — production planning, capacity analysis, BOM creation, lean principles, process streamlining
  • Inventory Management — demand planning, safety stock optimization, warehouse operations, SKU rationalization
  • Distribution & Fulfillment — network design, warehouse management, order fulfillment, 3PL evaluation
  • Supply Chain Technology — ERP evaluation, module addition/configuration, data cleanup and restructuring, automation
  • M&A Supply Chain Diligence — target assessment, integration…
