The Registered Nurse New Grad is a training/orientation position to develop the skills, knowledge, and critical reasoning to that of a competent registered nurse in an inpatient setting. The role pursues experiences that establish a basis for guiding practice and is expected to provide safe care with supervision and guidance from experienced nurses. The RN integrates theoretical knowledge into clinical situations, performs basic skills, and carries out a plan of care.
The RN identifies abnormal findings, seeks consultation as needed, and follows preceptor guidance, referencing policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct patient assessment and coordination of direct patient care.
- Perform charting and documentation.
- Teach patient and family in preparation for discharge home.
- Provide communication to the healthcare team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Essential Credentials: BLS, RN, Stroke Certification (NIHSS).
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (or equivalent). Current Arizona state or compact RN licensure.
- Experience: 0 years required.
- Current BLS; ACLS or other department‑specific credentials as required.
