SummaryThe RN Inpatient is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care, provides leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and resource availability.
Responsibilities- Deliver personalized patient care respecting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs; maintain a safe environment through five safe behaviors.
- Collect and analyze assessment data, determine diagnoses/issues, prioritize data, and develop individualized plans of care using evidence‑based practices.
- Implement and coordinate the plan of care, perform treatments and procedures, document outcomes and modifications, and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team.
- Communicate relevant information through hand‑offs across levels of care and organizations, ensuring clarity and continuity.
- Employ strategies to promote health, utilize teaching strategies appropriate to the patient’s condition and learning needs, and support self‑management and healthy lifestyles.
- Advocate for patients, disclose ethical concerns, and use available resources to formulate ethical decisions and address safety and quality improvement issues.
- Participate in evidence‑based and research activities, share findings with the healthcare team, and contribute to quality improvement and committee projects.
- Maintain compliance with professional codes of ethics, professional practice models, and state law regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona).
- Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 1 year related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Strong communication skills, mentoring ability, and teamwork orientation.
