• The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications and treatments; is accountable for delegating nursing care within legally established guidelines.
• Demonstrates commitment to patient by participation in the implementation of the nursing process in providing patient care under the direction of an RN.
• Provides direct patient care within their scope of practice to all patients as delegated by the RN in an efficient and respectful manner, observing and documenting patient responses to nursing care and medications, and adjusting care in collaboration with RN based on patient responses.
• Administers ordered medication and documents treatment appropriately and in a timely fashion.
• Possesses skills/knowledge to perform treatments (i.e. medications, equipment).
• Contributes to the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care by collecting data; providing prompt notification of changes in patient condition to appropriate individual; documents nursing care delivered and patient responses; implements of plan of care in knowledgeable and skillful manner, as evidenced by team feedback and documentation; involves family or significant other in the plan of care.
