Job Title:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Experience:
One or more years of experience in a skilled nursing/long-term care facility
License:
Current or temporary license to practice as an LPN in the Client
Certifications:
Current Negative TB skin test (Mantoux skin test) within the last twelve months
Must-Have:
- Knowledge of gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practice
- Skill in practical nursing methods and techniques
- Ability to assess client needs and establish excellent working relationships
Description:
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 36-48 hours per week (Night shift) 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
Provide the highest quality direct care services to residents.
Participate in facility meetings, training sessions, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician within the scope of practice.
Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments.
Ensure an adequate amount of supplies and medications are available.
Communicate with residents, families, and staff as necessary to ensure appropriate care.
Complete the initial admission nursing assessment tool on newly admitted residents.
Assist with the development of assessments, ongoing reviews, and care plans.
Supervise subordinate staff and assist with direct resident care.
Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.
Train and orient new employees.
Perform technical duties as assigned, such as collecting specimens and responding to emergencies.
Demonstrate knowledge of the aging process and the changing medical/physical/psychological care needs of residents.
Apply and interpret relevant laws and regulations governing nursing practices.
