SummaryThe RN Flex Team nurse provides high‑quality, flexible nursing care across multiple units or departments within the hospital. The RN Flex Team nurse adapts quickly to different clinical environments and delivers patient‑centered care in accordance with established standards and protocols. The RN Flex Team nurse must demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Deliver professional nursing care to patients in multiple units, as assigned. Deliver personalized, compassionate care that reflects acceptance, empathy, and understanding. Actively listens to patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding.
- Collects and analyzes physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual data using evidence‑based tools. Validates findings with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Documents assessment findings accurately and thoroughly, following established standards.
- Identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessments and diagnoses. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create culturally sensitive care plans. Utilizes evidence‑based strategies and updates plans based on the patient’s evolving condition.
- Delivers timely interventions and treatments aligned with established guidelines and patient preferences. Coordinates care delivery across settings and ensures comprehensive documentation. Communicates relevant updates during hand‑offs and transitions of care.
- Employs health promotion and teaching strategies to empower patients and families. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized care environment. Encourages feedback and evaluates patient understanding through techniques such as teach‑back.
- Monitors and documents the patient’s response to interventions and progress toward goals. Engages patients and families in evaluating outcomes and adjusting care plans as needed. Uses reassessment data to revise nursing diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions.
- Upholds ethical standards and advocates for patient rights and safety. Maintains therapeutic nurse‑patient relationships and encourages patient self‑advocacy. Reports unethical or unsafe practices in accordance with policy.
- Applies current research findings to improve patient outcomes and nursing practice.
- Participates in professional development and research activities appropriate to role and education level. Shares relevant evidence‑based insights with peers and team members and serves as a role model and resource to less experienced staff.
