12-hour Days or Nights (6:45 AM–7:15 PM / 6:45 PM–7:15 AM)
- 2+ years of RN experience
- 1+ year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
- Recent Level I or Level II Trauma hospital experience required
- Recent Epic EMR experience required
- BLS (Required)
- ACLS (Preferred)
- 90-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:5–6
- Nights: 1:6
- Common patient populations:
- Pneumonia
- COPD
- Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
- Radiation/Oncology patients
- Occasional post-op laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendectomy patients
- Experience with:
- Heparin infusions (non-titrated)
- Lasix infusions (non-titrated)
- Stable tracheostomy patients
- BiPAP
- Telemetry monitored by dedicated monitor technicians (travelers are not required to interpret telemetry).
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Typically 2 of 3 major holidays
- Low Census: May be placed on low census on-call
- Floating: Required to Med Surg units, stable low-acuity ICU patients, and Renal Dialysis Unit (RDU)/clinic as needed
- 100-mile radius rule applies
- Start dates are not flexible
- No blocked scheduling requests
- Maximum of 5 days of RTO
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Orientation: Hospital orientation, Epic/clinical education, and one unit orientation shift.
