Canyon Vista Medical Center seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. Responsibilities- Provide safe, direct nursing care to a diverse population of hospitalized patients using evidence-based practices.
- Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments, including monitoring vital signs, pain levels, and changes in condition.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments accurately and safely, following hospital policies and protocols.
- Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, procedures, discharge plans, and health maintenance strategies.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies, changes in status, and rapid response or code situations in accordance with training and protocols.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards to maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings, contributing ideas to enhance patient care and workflows.
- Support orientation, mentoring, or precepting of new staff and nursing students as appropriate.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, training, and continuing education offered by Canyon Vista Medical Center.
- Collaborate with case management and other departments to support safe, timely discharge planning and transitions of care.
