We are currently looking to hire a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team at Desert Veterinary Clinic in Yuma, Arizona. Our busy, 3-doctor practice sees a variety of pets providing preventative and urgent care services.
Bilingual (Spanish) speakers encouraged to apply!

Relocation Assistance Available to qualified candidates!

Salary: Starts at $20 per hour, and depends on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.

Location: 995 S 5th Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364

Schedule: 4/10-hour shifts;
Monday - Saturday, 8 am - 6 pm, closed Sundays and major holidays.

Desert Veterinary Clinic is a general practice veterinary clinic in Yuma, AZ, run by Dr. Cheryl Haugo. Some of the veterinary services we offer are vaccine and preventative care and a full range of in‑house diagnostics, chronic disease management, routine and emergency surgery, digital and dental radiography, dental cleaning and extractions, dietary recommendations, laser therapy, and end‑of‑life care. Our skilled veterinary team is committed to educating clients on how to keep their pets healthy through all stages of life!

Who You Are:
  • 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in Arizona
    , or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire required
  • Degree from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
  • Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or outdoor setting
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, radiology
  • Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre‑operative and post‑operative care
  • Laboratory skills including cytology set‑up and interpretation
  • Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound‑guided cystocentesis
