APT Suites, one of the fastest growing, mid-scale extended stay hotel brands with a unique and differentiated apartment-style product; is seeking a results-driven, field-based Area Director of Sales to lead direct sales efforts for our new hotel opening in Yuma (AZ). This is a boots-on-the-ground position focused on driving occupancy, building, and maintaining local relationships, and capturing extended stay business through proactive outside sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new business by prospecting, cold calling, and conducting in-person sales visits in and around the Yuma market.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key extended stay clients, including but not limited to corporate, military/government, relocation, project related and medical accounts.
  • Conduct 3.5–4 full days per week of outside sales activity, with a focus on field visits, account follow-ups, and networking.
  • Identify and pursue weekly and monthly stay opportunities.
  • Maintain an active and updated sales pipeline, track and report activity and results weekly.
  • Collaborate with General Manager, Revenue Manager and Regional Director of Operations, to optimize rates and availability for key accounts of the hotels.
  • Partner with National Sales and Brand Marketing.
  • Negotiate corporate rates with new and existing corporate clients.
  • Represent the brand professionally in the community and at local business events (Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, etc.)
  • Review (STR) report, local market publications, and other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hotel sales experience, ideally in the extended stay segment.
  • Proven ability to generate and close new business through direct sales efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of the Yuma, AZ market, or ability to quickly ramp up.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in the field.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and time management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
