Shop​/Service Field Technician

Overview

Fairbank is a leading supplier of Agriculture and Propane parts and equipment, with 14 locations throughout the Midwest and Northwest. We are seeking a motivated Shop / Service Field Technician for our branch in Yuma, Arizona. This position will report directly to the branch manager.

• This position requires a technician who will participate in hands on physical labor in the day-to-day activities of the shop.
• Hands on experience with mechanics, welding, and fabrication to custom build sprayers and the ability to quote custom projects.
• Repair/rebuild fertilizer equipment including centrifugal, transfer, roller, & diaphragm pumps.
• Service dry applicator equipment, belt loaders, & pull behind tenders & spreaders.
• Plumbing and fabrication on mixing trailers.
• Installation and troubleshooting flow control, auto steer, GPS (Raven & Ag Leader) systems on spray tractors.
• Assist with the parts counter and territory managers.
• Service calls during regular business hours and after hours.
• Maintain superior customer relations and ensure quality work is being performed to customers’ expectations.
• Update and maintain costs of all materials used in the manufacturing process.
• Review all paperwork and work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing.
• Follow factory and vendor warranty policies while servicing the customers’ equipment.

• Preferably the candidate will have prior work experience reading and working with electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Must be self motivated and able to use a computer and diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge or skills in the welding field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computers utilizing Microsoft Windows and related applications.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously, multi-task, organize and prioritize work.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work for long periods of time while standing.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 40 plus lbs safely and easily.
• High School degree or GED required

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $21.00 - $24.00 DOE

Location: 4285 Gila Ridge Rd., Yuma, Arizona 85365
