POSITION:
Family Support Specialist (Two openings)
Full Time Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $19 - $21 depending on experience
Join our dynamic and dedicated team to help provide a safe, compassionate, healing environment for children who have been a victim or witnessed a crime. Our Family Support Specialist helps uphold our values of Collaboration, Excellence, and Impact by engaging caregivers to participate in our family support programs.
FUNCTION: Reporting to the Director of Family Support and Prevention, the Family Support Specialist is responsible for administrative support for the Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center (CAC). The Family Support Specialist requires a high level of communication skills in working with coworkers, different agencies and participants of programs. The Family Support Specialist is responsible for engaging and building partnerships with the community, providing support to the STEP program on all aspects, and the CAC in general.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage and build partnerships with potential partners and agencies;
- Builds partnerships with community agencies;
- Recruit and enroll caregivers and other supportive adults in program;
- Engages in community outreach opportunities;
- Provides direct support and assistance to the STEP program; (including childcare, food, and logistics)
- Maintain inventory of STEP program supplies;
- Helps support the Family Advisory Board (FAB) in all capacities;
- Support implementation of programming (some evenings);
- Follow-up with potential participants by phone after initial contact;
- Retain families in the program through regular communication that builds relationships and rapport;
- Collect enrollment packets and make sure they are complete;
- Accurately input data for reporting purposes;
- Collect participant surveys;
Maintain necessary records and reports for funder; - Gather feedback from program participants;
- Respond to incoming calls related to program;
- Provide coverage for the play room as needed;
- Provide childcare for the STEP programs;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Related Field; (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working with survivors of trauma preferred;
- Experience working with Windows based software packages, including Excel and Word and Zoom;
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint and criminal background check;
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
