Materials Management Technician - FT

Job Title

Responsible for correct counting and restocking designated supplies in the hospital

Fills requisitions to restock various supply areas and departments of the hospital

Organizes the storage and distribution of supplies received in accordance with procedures. Routine stock supplies are placed in designated areas. Nonstock supplies and equipment are delivered to their proper locations. This includes off-campus locations as well as on-campus

Organize and rotate the storage of supplies for efficient handling and prevention of deterioration. Checks for expiration date each month and documents in the log book to maintain current dating

Prepares items to be shipped out via common carrier. Proper shipping records are to be completed for all items being shipped out of the hospital. A record of the transaction will be maintained in the MM office for 1 year

Assist with establishing appropriate stock levels/reorder points based on usage of supplies in various storage areas by communicating recommendations to the MM Director

Assist departments with locating stored records. Assure that all stored records are labeled with a destroy date

Fill in as the Receiving Clerk as needed, see Receiving Clerk Job Description

Maintain all storage areas in a sanitary and organized manner. This includes proper labeling of bins and shelves to help identify location of supplies

Report any hazardous or unsafe conditions to the MM Director. Work in a safe and efficient manner when on the job

Education:

High School or better
