Mock Woodworking, is recruiting a talented
Senior Estimator with 10+ years estimating experience
in Architectural Woodworking to join our award-winning business in Zanesville, Ohio. Successful candidates will have a history and an understanding of building practices plus architectural woodworking industry experience.
Estimating department ensures the growth and success of any organization. Role will help oversee the estimating functions and activities related to the work of the estimation department, including ensuring pricing, software and volume of bids meets targeted goals.
Estimating position will be involved with estimating overall project costs, gathering details and compiling data into formalized quotes according to specifications.
Additional duties of the position:
- Identify projects that align with company's parameters for success.
- Ensure accuracy and adherence of company's estimating business procedures.
- Ensure bids are submitted in timely fashion within the given specifications.
- Review estimates before they are being submitted.
- Maintain outreach to customers to ensure marketplace growth.
Best candidates would have a proven track record of generating sales and building client relationships. Estimators supports Mock Woodworking's relationships with customers, architects, contractors, sub-contractors and field representatives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business preferred. 10+ years of experience with estimating, architectural millwork, commercial cabinetry or retail fixtures preferred. Ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with estimating bid software, project portals and websites used to access bids from general contractors.
1. Candidate needs to have ownership of the estimating process and promote Mock Woodworking business standards, quality and reputation, delivering world-class service to ensure customer satisfaction.
2. Overall responsibility for the estimating function and general bid review with both internal associates and external customers. Occasional regional travel to review bids with general contractors and architects.
3. Collaborates with President, GM regarding bid/no bid decisions.
4. Extensive research of material and costs, plus a commitment to a thorough, error-free process.
5. Prepares project take-offs, cost estimates and pricing estimates.
6. Coordinate bid documents and estimates for timely completion and delivery.
7. Resolve bid clarification questions with architects, general contractors and customers as required.
8. Evaluate estimating procedures and recommend areas of improvement.
9. Collaborate with project managers, engineering, business managers and accounting.
10. Support new product development from concept to implementation and enhancements to existing product lines.
11. Maintains Mock Woodworking philosophy of continuous improvement, providing feedback to enhance Mock Woodworking's products and services.
