MARKETING & COMMUNITY RELATIONS ASSISTANT

The Muskingum County Library System is seeking a dynamic Full-time
Marketing & Community Relations Assistant to help us spark curious minds and foster a love of reading. Under the supervision of the Marketing & Community Relations Director, you will be a key voice in promoting our library’s vital programs, services, and partnerships throughout the community.

LOCATION: John McIntire Library (220 N. 5th Street. Zanesville, OH 43701)

Salary: $17.28 - 18.79 per hour

• Write, design, and produce eye-catching promotional materials and library signage.
• Coordinate our social media presence by creating engaging video/photo content, responding to our community, and helping shape our digital strategy.

Develop working relationships with community organizations and represent the library at events and governmental meetings.

Meet with local artists and community groups to coordinate library exhibits and opening receptions.

Ensure brand consistency across the system by reviewing designs and program submissions.

• Stay ahead of the curve by applying trends in digital storytelling and emerging technologies to enhance the library’s digital presence.

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or relevant work experience.
• At least one year of relevant experience in marketing, public relations, Graphic Design, or digital Media.
• State of Ohio Driver's License.

• Strong graphic design skills with attention to branding and visual consistency
• Experience with social media content creation and platform best practices
• Ability to create short-form video content, including basic filming and editing
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop , Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Canva or similar tools
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at once while meeting deadlines
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional approach
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
• Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to changing priorities
