Assignment Dates: Multiple dates available starting May 18, 2026, with ongoing opportunities (including May 8–18 and June 11–15)
Shift: 12-hour shifts (any), with after-hours call; some days may be call-only with minimal rounding
Department Beds: 6
Trauma Level: Level 3
Pediatric Level: Level 2
Nearest Airport: John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $6,280 - $7,440 per week
Orientation Duration: 150 minutes
Required Qualifications
Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery (required)
Active Physician License in Ohio (MD or DO)
Minimum 1 year post-fellowship experience in cardiothoracic surgery
Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Current certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS
Proficiency in open and endoscopic cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
Clinical skills in acute volume/blood pressure management and ventilator management
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 40 days
Key Responsibilities
Perform a full spectrum of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including:
General cardiovascular and thoracic surgery (open and endoscopic)
Coronary artery bypass grafting (on-pump and off-pump)
Valvular repair and replacement procedures
Aneurysm repair (cardiac, aorto-thoracic, aorto-abdominal)
Lung resections, including VATS (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery)
Chest wall, pleural, esophageal, and diaphragm surgeries
Permanent pacemaker and AICD placement
Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) management and TAVR participation
Vascular procedures (open and endovascular), including bypass and endarterectomy
Perform and manage central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABP insertion
Provide after-hours call coverage and minimal in-house rounding as needed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, anesthesia, ICU, perfusion) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document all patient encounters, operative notes, and procedural reports accurately and in a timely manner
