Position Description

The Scholarship and Aid Coordinator plays a key role within the campus community, responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle of institutional, endowed, and external scholarships. Operating within the Financial Aid department, this role is primarily responsible for the promotion, application review, selection process, and compliance-based awarding of all scholarship funds. This role also provides support to students, families, employees, and community partners in navigating the financial aid process.

The Scholarship and Aid Coordinator oversees scholarship administration, reviews and adjusts student aid packaging, and leads financial literacy outreach. The position contributes to the success and retention of students by providing timely and accurate aid counseling and services. Hiring Salary - $34,500.00 - $40,250.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee scholarship processing: manage and evaluate applications, coordinate and guide selection committee, award and package funds, communicate with students, and ensure continued eligibility for awards. Coordinate with Business Office and Foundation Office stakeholders to ensure accurate funding amounts.

Counsel and support students, parents, and the public on all aspects of financial aid, eligibility, FAFSA, and scholarship opportunities. Assist with campus events as needed to communicate scholarship and aid information.

Manage the Federal Work Study (FWS) Program: coordinate placements, onboard students, audit timesheets, and monitor funding.

- 10%

Lead financial literacy efforts with student population. Monitor institutional default rate; communicate with delinquent borrowers; lead default prevention efforts; revise policies and procedures.

- 10%

Lead outside scholarship and state funding awarding. Monitor students for continued eligibility for funds.

- 10%

Maintain general knowledge of federal and institutional aid policies; attend training; support audits and compliance reviews.

Scholarship Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain scholarship policies and disbursement processes.
  • Promote ZSC scholarships through strategic outreach and marketing.
  • Review student eligibility based on academic and donor criteria.
  • Manage the scholarship review committee and facilitate award processes.
  • Perform internal audits and ensure donor intent and spending policy compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and scholarship recipient database.

Conduct Expectation:
All duties shall be performed with respect, responsiveness, and responsibility, integrating the ZSC philosophy, which promotes respectful, supportive, and genuine engagement with students, colleagues, and the community. Work Environment:

  • Full-time, on-campus position.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required for events or outreach.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree in communications, business, or a related field.
  • Some experience in scholarship and aid awarding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or a related field.
  • Experience working with financial aid.
  • Familiarity with financial aid rules and regulations.
