Desktop Support Technician (Onsite – Zanesville, OH)

Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of PC hardware and peripherals. This role supports end users by troubleshooting technical issues, managing hardware inventory, and ensuring adherence to company security, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and repair desktops, laptops, and related peripherals following established procedures
- Troubleshoot hardware and system issues, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests
- Manage and update tickets through Service Now, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment repair and replacement as needed
- Perform data migration activities based on end-user requirements
- Maintain and track hardware inventory, including asset management and stock levels
- Support special project requests including workstation setups and relocations
- Enforce company security protocols, safety standards, and software licensing compliance
- Provide guidance and support to desktop teams on hardware-related issues
- Collaborate with team members and assist with additional tasks as directed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with Service Now or similar ticketing systems
- Solid PC troubleshooting and hardware repair skills
- Experience with inventory and asset management
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills for end-user support
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
- CompTIA A+ certification (or equivalent experience preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a PC support or desktop support role
- Hands-on experience with hardware configuration and troubleshooting
Tools & Equipment
- Basic PC repair tools (e.g., screwdrivers, diagnostic tools)
