Genesis Healthcare System is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving communities in Southeastern Ohio. Its not-for-profit Genesis Hospice in Zanesville includes a free standing hospice house.

Role Description

The Hospice Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Zanesville, OH, responsible for overseeing daily operations of hospice services to ensure high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care. This role manages interdisciplinary hospice teams, coordinates patient care plans, and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Hospice Manager collaborates with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other care professionals to support patients and families, manage caseloads, and monitor clinical outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing service improvement initiatives, managing budgets and resources, supporting staff training and development, and maintaining clear communication with families, referral sources, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient, family, and community relationships.
  • Clinical expertise in hospice or palliative medicine and a solid understanding of end-of-life care practices.
  • Proven team leadership experience, including staff supervision, coaching, and performance management.
  • Experience with sales or outreach activities, including building referral networks and promoting hospice services.
  • Ability to design and deliver training, education, and onboarding programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Rn licensure and prior hospice or home care experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with attention to regulatory and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Bachelor es degree in nursing, healthcare administration
