Industrial Maintenance Technician
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within a modern distribution center. The Maintenance technician reads and interprets electrical schematics and blueprints, services conveyors and packaging equipment, and ensures all work complies with applicable codes and safety guidelines. The position requires basic PLC troubleshooting skills, hands-on industrial electrical experience, and the ability to make accurate, timely repairs under pressure while supporting continuous operations across flexible shifts.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test mechanical equipment commonly used in distribution centers, including conveyors, diverters, and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) by reading ladder logic and checking inputs and outputs.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in accordance with the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and applicable safety guidelines.
- Use electrical and electronic test equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, to identify and correct electrical and electronic faults.
- Perform electrical welding and apply basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot systems controlled by electrical devices.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems and perform pipe fitting using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Work with control cabinets and high-voltage systems safely and effectively while following established procedures and regulations.
- Apply working knowledge of laws and operational requirements set forth by governing agencies to ensure compliant maintenance practices.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and make correct, expedient repairs under pressure to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems to support reliable distribution center operations.
- Complete and maintain powered industrial vehicle training and certification, and operate such equipment safely as required.
- Collaborate with operations and other maintenance personnel to support continuous improvement and efficient workflow.
- Work flexible hours and shifts based on business needs, including first and third shift coverage.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (O.S.H.A.) guidelines.
- Proficiency in using electrical and electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and test mechanical equipment used in distribution centers, such as conveyors, diverters, and packaging equipment.
- Proficiency in plumbing operations and use of pipe fitting tools.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zanesville, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $41.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
