Lower Elementary Teacher

As a small school with a strong family feel, we are seeking a Lower Elementary Classic Classroom Teacher who enjoys building relationships with students and helping them grow academically and socially.

Our teachers have a meaningful voice in how the Academy operates. We create an engaging, flexible learning environment where educators can be creative and students thrive. This includes small class sizes, nature-based learning opportunities, and a balanced calendar.

• Teach approved curriculum in engaging ways that support student curiosity and understanding.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials while providing whole group, small group, and individualized instruction.
• Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, conferences, phone calls, and other updates.
• Establish and maintain classroom expectations that support a positive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning and school initiatives.

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an elementary endorsement
• Experience teaching in an elementary classroom preferred, early elementary experience helpful
• Understanding of elementary literacy and math instruction
• Ability to differentiate instruction to support a range of student needs
• Strong communication and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
• Willingness to contribute to a small school environment and community
