iCademy teachers build strong relationships with students through regular live instruction, personalized feedback, and consistent communication with families in a highly collaborative virtual environment. We are seeking a Middle School ELA Teacher to provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a primarily virtual environment with limited on-site expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in English Language Arts aligned to Michigan Academic Standards
• Plan and facilitate live and asynchronous lessons that promote student engagement, critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing development, and ownership of learning
• Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and varying academic needs
• Build strong relationships with students and families to support academic and social-emotional growth
• Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and required documentation
• Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, expectations, and supports
• Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, and support staff
• Participate in meetings, professional learning, and required school events
• Uphold iCademy Global policies, procedures, and expectations

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with endorsements appropriate for middle school English Language Arts, or ability to obtain
• Experience teaching middle school students
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Comfort using technology and virtual learning platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a virtual or blended learning environment
• Familiarity with Michigan Academic Standards
• Experience working with diverse student populations

Work Environment:

• Primarily remote with scheduled on-site requirements
• On-site one day per week during the school year, typically Tuesdays
• Additional on-site attendance required for state testing, new student orientation, and other required school events
• Reliable internet access and appropriate home workspace required

Salary: BA Step 0 - $50,000.00. Additional compensation is available based on verified years of relevant experience.
