Position SummaryThe Environmental Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations at a chemical manufacturing facility. This role focuses heavily on Title V air permitting and wastewater treatment operations, while also supporting broader environmental initiatives including hazardous waste management, sustainability efforts, and environmental reporting.
Key Responsibilities Title V Air Compliance- Manage and maintain the facility’s Title V air permit.
- Ensure accurate emissions tracking, reporting, and recordkeeping.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies for inspections, renewals, and modifications.
- Lead air dispersion modeling and control technology evaluations.
- Oversee the operation and compliance of on-site wastewater treatment systems.
- Monitor discharge permits and ensure sampling, testing, and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Implement process improvements to reduce wastewater generation and improve treatment efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with EPA, state environmental agencies, and local ordinances.
- Maintain environmental records and prepare required reports (e.g., TRI, Tier II, DMRs).
- Conduct internal audits and lead corrective actions.
- Oversee proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with RCRA and other applicable waste regulations.
- Develop and deliver environmental training to plant personnel.
- Serve as the primary contact for environmental issues and regulatory inspections.
- Support initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including energy and water conservation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement environmental improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of Title V air permitting and wastewater treatment systems.
- Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, RCRA, CWA, CAA).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
