Senior Field Service Engineer

Extol, Inc. is looking for a motivated, adaptable Service Engineer! This position is responsible for installing and servicing custom automation machines. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to dig deeper into problems to fully understand and solve the root cause of issues and quickly bounce back when unexpected setbacks occur.

• Installs and supports custom automation at customer locations.
• Debugs and optimizes machine controls, problem solves mechanical and electrical issues.
• Troubleshoots machine issues, identifies root causes, and continuously improves systems, methods, and processes.
• Provides technical training on equipment.
• Documentation of work completed using service reports and through updating equipment schematics and programs.

• 5+ years of experience in an automated machinery or equipment industry
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
• Understanding of third-party component hardware and software (i.e., sensors, vision systems, barcode readers, etc.).
• Excellent organization skills and ability to plan and complete work details.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel extensively to customer locations (about 50%)
