Office Furniture Manufacturers, Automotive parts manufacturers, Medical Devices, Consumer Products, and Custom Equipment Manufacturers, along with entrepreneurs, start‑ups, and individual inventors.
We are seeking a driven B2B Salesperson to join our team and grow our engineering and prototyping services with OEMs, manufacturers, and innovative companies.
Role Overview :You will be responsible for developing and closing new B2B business for Broadview’s engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing support services. This is a “hunter–farmer” role:
You’ll focus on building new relationships while nurturing and expanding existing accounts. You will be a part of a Sales department that includes 2 sales positions and a part‑time marketing position and report to the President/Owner.
New Business Development:
- Identify, research, and target prospective B2B clients in key sectors (furniture, automotive/transportation, industrial/manufacturing, consumer, medical, and related industries).
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline via outbound outreach (email, phone, Linked In, networking, conferences, plant visits).
- Qualify opportunities, understand customer needs, and match them to Broadview’s engineering and prototyping capabilities.
- Develop a solid working understanding of our services: engineering design, CAD, prototyping methods (3D printing, CNC, urethane casting, fabrication), and manufacturing support (fixtures, tooling, custom machines).
- Conduct discovery meetings with engineering, product development, manufacturing, and purchasing stakeholders.
- Work with our engineering team to scope projects, create proposals/quotes, and present solutions that address technical, cost, and timeline requirements.
- Understand and communicate technical concepts clearly and credibly to both engineers and non‑technical decision‑makers.
- Build long‑term relationships with client organizations: engineering teams, project managers, operations, and leadership.
- Grow revenue within existing accounts by uncovering new programs, product lines, and support needs.
- Provide regular follow‑up, status updates, and support to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Manage your funnel from first contact to close, using a CRM or structured tracking method.
- Forecast and report on sales activities, opportunities, and results.
- Provide feedback from the field to help refine services, positioning, and marketing efforts.
- 3–7+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in Engineering services, Product development services, Prototyping / contract manufacturing / custom fabrication.
- Proven track record of hunting and closing new business and growing existing accounts.
- Experience selling functions such as engineering, R&D, product development, operations, and purchasing.
- Experience with OEMs, tier suppliers, or manufacturers in any of our key industries is a strong plus.
- Product development stages (concept through production)
- CAD/engineering drawings, tolerances, materials, DFM/DFA considerations (you don’t have to be an engineer, but you must be able to learn and talk the language credibly)
- Prototyping processes (3D printing/additive, CNC machining, fabrication, etc.) and basic manufacturing methods
- Ability to understand customer business drivers: cost targets, timelines, manufacturability, risk, quality, and ROI.
