Mechanical Engineer Position
Randstad Engineering Solutions is looking for talented Mechanical Engineers to join our growing Engineering Solutions team. Randstad provides engineering services to multiple clients for the development of electronic products across multiple industries. This project is for a global developer and manufacturer of high-quality fire protection, auto-dimming mirrors and windows for the automotive, aerospace, and commercial fire protection industries with facilities in the Zeeland, MI area.
The Mechanical Engineer will support program management and design engineering in the development of current and future products. The Mechanical Engineer will also work on continuous improvement in mechanical design integrity of all products and will work with design engineering through all phases of product design through the product launch.

Job Duties:
- Product development and root cause analysis.
- Perform, evaluate and report on design verification analysis and testing.
- Recommend/propose changes to current and future designs based on product design verification testing.
- Maintain historical database (reports) for the above analyses and tests.
- Prepare and maintain all new product and prototype development coordination in support of program management, quality, tooling, purchasing, operations, and production.
- Support and follow Quality Systems procedure manual formats.
- Perform tasks in the following areas:
- Product Reliability Studies
- Preliminary Bill of Materials
- Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Design for Manufacturability and Assembly
- Design Verification and Reviews
- Prototype Build - Control Plan
- Engineering Drawings (Including Math Data)
- Engineering Specifications
- Material Specifications
- Drawing and Specification Changes and Documentation
- Special Product Characteristics
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R)
- Support Quality Engineering, Manufacturing and Project Management functions.
- Benchmark Testing and updating the benchmarking database.
- Support Client patent protection.
- Participate in advanced engineering projects.
- Possess a high level of communication and organizational skills.
- A team player, dependable, problem solver, motivated, and customer-oriented.
Job Requirements:
3-5+ years experience:
Highly proficient in Catia V5 3D modeling. Plastic Component experience, mold design, etc. Mechanical design experience.
Desired
Skills & Experience:
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, and feasibility, as well as a good understanding of automotive design requirements and practices. Experience designing die-casting, and metal stamping. Automotive.
