Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site Computer Aided Design (CAD) Designer role based in Zeeland, MI. The CAD Designer will create and update detailed technical drawings and 3D models for equipment and components, following engineering specifications and industry standards. Day‑to‑day tasks include preparing construction drawings, revising designs based on engineering feedback, and ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and organized. The role will collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to translate concepts into build‑ready drawings, support revisions during production, and assist with documentation for quality and compliance.
The CAD Designer will also help maintain drawing libraries, adhere to company drafting standards, and participate in continuous improvement of design processes.
- Strong proficiency in Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software and experience creating precise Technical Drawings.
- Ability to produce clear Drawing layouts and detailed Construction Drawings suitable for manufacturing and assembly.
- Background or knowledge in Design Engineering, including interpreting specifications and engineering requirements.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple design projects and revisions.
- Effective collaboration skills and ability to communicate clearly with engineers, production staff, and other stakeholders.
- Relevant technical education (e.g., associate degree or certificate in CAD, drafting, or mechanical design) or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and basic understanding of fabrication processes and materials is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, tolerances, and industry standards; experience with 3D modeling is a plus.
