Position Overview
The Project Launch Coordinator plans and executes prototype builds for multiple projects. They are part of the project team meetings to understand the product scope and timing of the projects. The coordinator develops complete knowledge of the Bill of Material (BOM) for the specific projects. This person works with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to understand when all DV builds need to happen and develops a build plan to support DV.
These duties include:
- Purchase order requisitions for all parts and materials required for the builds.
- Working with Planning to schedule the build within the required plant.
- Filling out and submitting the Material Request to Planning.
- Receiving and storing of all materials in preparation for the build.
- Ensuring that the plant is prepared with training of the line personal to any specific needs for the product.
- Ensures that packaging or racking is in place for storing the product after the build in preparation for DV Testing and also Trade Show samples as required.
- Responsible to work with the plant for storage location of all parts and the engineers on when the parts will be tested.
- This position will also be responsible to collect all the PV Test parts from the manufacturing team and store them in preparation for testing.
This function starts work on a project during the Design Phase through the PV Testing of a project. This job will also support the Engineering Services Team loading and modifying BOM's in Oracle Fusion. This activity is critical for setting up new products quickly and efficiently. Historically, the role has bene approximately 50% build support, 50% BOM work in Oracle Fusion.
The week to week breakdown will vary and depend on the project workload.

- Planning ability for all builds working with the Program Manager
- Ability to understand the bill of material and develop a part order list
- Write purchase requisitions
- Ability to pull/modify a bill of material in Oracle Fusion
- Develop good relationships with the launch teams and manufacturing teams
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and lifting medium loads (up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs on a frequent basis).
- Minimum of 5 years experience with Prototype building either in pilot centers or manufacturing operations.
- Experience in bill of materials in Oracle.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written format with team members and leadership.
- Ability to work independently in a professional environment.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to establish priorities, identify and set goals, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to present regular updates to teams on the status of the builds.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to balance and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and have the flexibility required in an ever-changing environment.
