Essential Job Functions

Develops and executes purchasing agreements across assigned commodity categories.

Resolves routine conflicts related to supplier delivery schedules, inventory, and pricing.

Purchases materials, supplies, and services by developing, soliciting, and analyzing supplier quotations. Coordinates with other departments to assure proper delivery, quality, reliability, and cost consistency. Documents and maintains necessary records and files.

Identifies and evaluates new suppliers within assigned categories. Establishes new suppliers and coordinates order maintenance with existing suppliers. Recommends suppliers with whom orders will be placed and maintains supplier relationships.

Drive process improvements and deliver greater automation through our indirect purchasing processes.

Lead/co-lead cross functional project across several business units in an effort to deliver best in class solutions that can be implemented through multiple site locations across all ODL sites (predominately North America).

Contributes to continuous improvement activities, including supplier-performance programs. Tracks supplier performance metrics and works with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, cost, and support.

Works with necessary departments to reduce costs and improve efficiency of the purchasing function for assigned categories.

Supports the company's New Product Development (NPD) initiatives by coordinating required purchased materials and/or services with Engineering, Marketing, and other departments in a timely manner.

Monitors market trends and systems/technology relevant to assigned commodities. Shares findings and recommendations with the purchasing team.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience preferred.

One to five years of purchasing and/or materials experience, including exposure to manufacturing operations. Demonstrated ability to purchase materials, equipment, and services.

Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication to effectively interface with internal and external contacts at all levels.

Good organizational skills; able to establish priorities, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.

Proficiency with purchasing/ERP tools and standard office software. General understanding of AI tools preferred.

Developing problem-solving and negotiation skills. Works independently on assignments of moderate complexity and scope; seeks guidance on non-routine or high-impact decisions.

Ability to travel occasionally (primarily domestic) less than 10% of the time.
