Position: Manufacturing Position (Temp-to-Hire Opportunity)

General Purpose

An Operations Technician is part of our pay‑for‑skills program and allows individuals to continue to build skills and increase their compensation. As an entry‑level Operations Technician, you will assemble products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based on customer demand and lean manufacturing principles to satisfy the customer and provide high‑quality products delivered in a timely manner.

The position follows standard work methods and practices, using safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Cross‑training in other departments to learn additional functions is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assembly
  • Attach appropriate label and tags to product and packages.
  • Check equipment and product as needed, and report safety or quality problems or issues to the department supervisor.
  • Complete required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
  • Gain up to two skill blocks according to the skill library.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines.
  • Perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Participate in HMPS improvement activities within the current department or other departments as appropriate.
  • Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time).
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
  • Rotate through the department work stations based on business need.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Machine Operation
  • Operate specialty machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble or move products while meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards.
  • Maintain and monitor machinery to ensure proper function.
  • Perform multiple processes using a variety of equipment in a manufacturing setting, dependent upon the department processes.
  • Produce a high‑quality product delivered in a timely manner to satisfy customers.
  • Solve problems with the assistance of other team members and seek continuous improvement.
  • Follow standard work methods and practices, using safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Learn additional functions through cross‑training in other departments.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
  • Rotate through the department work stations based on business need.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Material Handler
  • Receive, store, and pull raw and finished goods through the facility in a safe, accurate, and timely manner, along with proper part tracking.
  • Operate equipment (stand‑up/ sit‑down/ swing reach forklift, aerial lift) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a valid forklift license and follow MIOSHA standards as a professional Material Handler.
  • Follow standard work methods and practices, using safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
  • Learn additional functions through cross‑training in other departments.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
  • Rotate through the department work stations based on business need.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience
  • One of the following is required: (1) high school diploma or its equivalent (GED, etc.) or (2) work experience that demonstrates performance competency.
Skills and Abilities

Assembly
  • Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.
  • Can work cooperatively within the team and with members of other teams to meet goals.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
  • Must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift.
  • Can regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs.
