Precision Builder | Custom Manufacturing | $20/hr+ | 1st Shift
A growing custom manufacturing company is hiring a Precision Builder to build detailed models and assemblies used for product demonstrations and training tools. This position focuses on hands-on fabrication, casting, and precision assembly work in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, following build instructions and drawings, and producing high-quality custom components. Much of the work involves short-run or one-off builds, so strong attention to detail and craftsmanship are important.
Key Responsibilities• Manufacture high-quality urethane parts used for demonstration and training products
• Prepare molds, fixtures, and tooling for casting urethane components to match detailed specifications
• Mix, pour, degas, and cure urethane materials according to documented processes and material requirements
• Assemble small hardware components onto and within urethane models, ensuring proper orientation, depth, and alignment
• Perform drilling, cutting, sanding, and finishing operations to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes
• Interpret work instructions, drawings, CAD models, and build notes to complete custom, one-off, or short-run builds
• Modify existing models or tooling to accommodate design updates or customer-specific requirements
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to verify accuracy, placement, and overall quality
• Document build steps, materials used, deviations, and rework according to internal quality procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling of materials
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to troubleshoot build challenges and improve processes
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance repeatability, efficiency, and quality
• Handle delicate components with care to prevent damage, contamination, or loss
• Meet production schedules while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Similar work experience highly preferred, but not required
• Experience with mechanical assembly, assembly, or detailed manufacturing work
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, or build documentation
• Comfortable using hand tools such as drills, sanders, and cutting tools
• Strong attention to detail and precision when assembling small components
• Ability to perform drilling, sanding, trimming, and finishing work to meet specifications
• Ability to handle delicate components carefully to prevent damage
• Clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility
• Quiet production floor
