Pastor of Community Life Faith Reformed Church

Faith Reformed Church located in Zeeland, Michigan is seeking a full-time Pastor of Community Life. The ideal candidate would possess the giftedness necessary to be a support to the Senior Pastor role and be an important leader in the life and community of Faith Reformed Church. Faith Reformed Church, founded in 1954, has 490 members, a comprehensive lifecycle approach to spiritual formation, and has strong ties to local mission partners such as GVSU Campus Ministry, Kids Hope, Hand2

Hand, Jackson’s Web, Life for Christ Karate, and Breakfast with Baby. We sponsor 12 missionaries in 10 countries and offer a Mission Scholarship Fund to church members. We are blessed with a long-tenured staff of individuals dedicated to serving God through enriching the lives of our church community. We enjoy an engaged and cohesive Consistory presence dedicated to serving God and the needs of the church community.

The purpose of this position would be to assist the Senior Pastor in performing all ministerial duties. Additionally, this position would provide leadership and oversight to specific activities and church functions.

• Preaches approximately one time per month and participates regularly in worship on Sundays.
• Oversight of congregational care in partnership with Senior Pastor and Senior Ministries Director.
• Conducts weddings, funerals, pastoral calls in partnership with the Senior Pastor.
• Provides counseling as requested.
• Provides a sound example of a high priority and commitment to family.
• Maintains an active and growing personal relationship with Christ through personal spiritual disciplines and personal accountability.

• It is expected that the employee be a regular part of the community of Faith Church. There is an understanding on the employee’s part that they will be invested in Faith Church spiritually, relationally, emotionally and physically, which includes involvement in the lives of people and ministries of Faith Church.
• Serves as a team member of the church staff under the leadership of the Senior Pastor.
• Attends Consistory meetings and leads meetings as needed in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
• Builds relationships and develops a network within the Classis.
• Continually seeks to help fulfill the stated mission of the church.
• Maintains regularly scheduled office hours.
• Other duties as requested by the Senior Pastor.

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
• On track to be an ordained minister, Bachelor’s degree required, Master of Divinity preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a pastoral role within a church setting or Christian organization preferred.
• Strong people and pastoral skills.
